U know how much parents desire for their kids?

ALOT..

and sometimes, the kids just don't understand why the parents are so hard on them?

simple..
Results matters...

Parents use results as a measure of how well/hardworking their kids have been..

if the kids don't do well, it's an assumption that the kid just plays too much..
that the kid has been involved in too many other things and thus loses focus on studies..

I guess the child has already been so demoralised by herself from her results already, that she just can't be bothered about how her parents react..

It's not that the child didn't want to get that kind of results.. but what can she do now?
She promised herself to work harder already, and she longs to please her parents.. because that's all her parents see.. RESULTS..

"I'm very disappointed in you. You are not going to church anymore. You are not going out anymore."

Do you know how hurtful and scary that can be to her?

and what have i been doing?

It just comes to a point whereby i don't know where to turn to now.. perhaps it's a crossroad.. or maybe not.. Things and decisions thrusted into my face, demanding my immediate attentions.. living everyday as though it's a monotonous routine..

I'm fustrated...
I'm desperate for revival...
I'm thristing...

But i've done nothing to change it...

It is lack of determination? or is it lost of hope? or APATHY.. stubborness within me..

God, i want to be completely honest with You... I know somehow, somewhere, something is wrong within my heart.. how can i be so passionate one second, and the next being so worldly? i feel like a liar, a hypocrite.. i don't want just to have head knowledge.. I want You..

You.. more than anything...
You.. more than my studies..
You.. more than my heart..
You.. more than my dreams..
You.. more than my desires..
You.. more than my life..

Lord, i remember Your words.. when i'm weak, You're strong.. I'm small, but You are big.. I'm sorry God, for not living the life You wanted me to live.. for wasting precious time away.. for not being discerning.. for getting into troubles that even now i do not know how to face..

But, let me be like Lucy... always believing, no matter what she sees with her eyes.. because she believe with her heart.. Father, i believe in my heart... You'll pick me up from this fall.. and lead me to the way of righteousness..

Hebrews 12:11 says "No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it."

I admit i have a doubtful heart..
Doubtful of all my decisions..
Thinking am i following my will or God's will..
But i believe God is real..

He changed my life..
He gave me things i never thought i would receive in this life..
He led me through each new and exciting day...

I'm thankful i'm alive..
I'm thankful i've come to know my Father in Heaven

I was watching Goong again.. and i thought more about how "CaiJing" actually made the decision to marry the prince.. it is rationale? or is it forced? will there be a better way of solving her family's financial crisis?

I mean, off course in the show if she doesn't agree to marry the prince, then there won't be a show in the first place. but come to think about it.. isn't it the same for some people? it's only when they're totally crushed or in a totally hopeless situation, that they decided to follow or get back to God.

Let me clear this up first.. there is never a hopeless situation, there is only people who have grown hopeless about them. What appears as an unsolvable problem to us is actually a rather exhilarating challenge.. this is taken from the book "wisdom for the way" by Charles R. Swindoll..

In any case.. what is in the minds of those who turned back to God then? did they hope that God will lift them up from their difficulties immediately? i admit i myself fall into this catergory too.. i wanted God to just zap all the problems that i face all away.. but ultimately, i came to a realisation that God won't zap them all away.. He'll never spoon feed us.. He'll guide me, it's only whether i want to follow His way, or my way... whether i truly trust Him in faith, believing that God is in control... or because of all my uncertainy that i choose to go my way, because it's more realistic...

God works in unexpected ways... remember that..

Leading...

it took on a roll i guess... even after sec 4.. it's weird though, i was reading Dr Tim Elmore book on self-leadership which Eunice told Elissa and I to read before June ends.. It struck me.. HARD.. as though telling me to "WAKE UP!!! STOP YOUR CHILDISH THOUGHTS!"

Oversized Gift.. perhaps positions have gotten over my head.. perhaps God is teaching me what it really means to lead others, because staying too high a position has endangered my character. It led me to be too focus on the "gift" rather than myself.. and when it falls.. i fall.. up till now i haven't gotten back the courage to stand up from my defeat..

Perhaps that's why i was so reluctant to lead, afraid of myself, afraid of what would happen.. it affected both myself and my walk with God.. thinking that now im in a totally new environment in SAJC, that i can leave it all behind.. i guess not. I brought it along with me because i couldn't get over it.. it keeps coming back.. hindering me..

but.. reading Dr Tim Elmore's book woke me up.. it's like a hit on my head..

God, Father.. You knew all along, even from the beginning of school, what was the problem. You knew that i couldn't let go of what happened in the past.. and i guess You knew that i would only learn my lesson when i'm utterly defeated. Thank You Lord, for waking me up once more. To know that I can be what Your word says I can be, filtering my mind and heart with only what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy. At the same time, teach me humility.. that i do not go over my head... Amen..

i just saw the last episode of "太极".. ending has WuMa (main actor) and SangQing (main actress) going separate ways.. normally one would criticize that the ending should be a happy one and that WuMa and SangQing should live happily together.

Does love mean always being together?
Can love still exist between two who are so far apart?

just some food for the thought... =) Made me think much deeper into what's the meaning of love, between 2 people..

i guess, these few days are just tiring...

temptations for using the computer for other uses other than school work is high..
temptations to not do homework or tutorials or studying is high...
temptations to fall asleep while praying is high...

Never did like the stressful days anymore.. but with time so free, wasting it away is just pure dumb on my part. i guess discipline is needed.. an area i need to concentrate on improving..

imagine a bridge in between two rocky cliffs, broken and torn, with ropes left dangeling*.. you are clinging unto one of the ropes for dear life. looking down is a shocking pile of knifes that threaten to pierce through your skins at any time you lose grip... for a few hours you're struggling.. for a few days you're hoping to get rescue..

soon, that thought is dismissed as the hours grow.. you look to the circumstances and see that there isn't any more hope.. the knives look so tempting..

what do you do?

you kept holding unto the rope.. you bite your teeth in agony, your body cries out in pain.. you keep telling yourself that you must perservere on! Just when your hopes gets high again, the rope snaps, and it swung till u hit the side of the cliff. it's a long way up to the top of the cliff.. and your muscles are aching like crazy.. you want to just give up..

do you?

you start rock climbing it, taking each step a step at a time. soon u are progressing, halfway to the top... 3/4.. almost there.. and suddenly u slipped and slid down again, deeply scratching ur skin till it bled... your hands, albows, whole body is bruised.. what now?

Emotions starts kicking in.. all alone, thinking that it's just one life and no one will care, no one will bother if u fell, failure of reaching to the top because everything u do seem to be wrong made you all the more depressed.. crying seems to be the only solution, and falling to the pit of knives seems like the only way out.. because u think u will never be able to go to the top anymore..

i ask myself..
Who am i to say im incapable?
Who am i to give up just because i keep failing to reach the top?
Who am i to say that i'm not strong enough to handle this or that?

Then what about God?

By saying that i'm incapable, i'm rejecting His word, "I am capable of all things through Christ who strengthens me."
By giving up, i'm not placing my hopes on God..
is it me or God who determines i'm strong enough? God, who is even able to use the small David to kill Goliath, who did miracles in all the earth, if He say i'm strong, i'm strong.. but it's whether or not i believe it..

everyday is a choice.. everyday is a challenge.. to perservere on, no matter what you're facing, or to just go on a rollercoaster ride on your emotions..

How ever tired i am, i guess im compelled to type this down.. i can't really think straight right now.. my mind is blurred.. I’ll try my best..

Throughout the whole orientation period in SAJC, i can say that God has convicted me of many things.. Including my purpose in that school. Even though i appealed to ACJC, i told God, if it is His will for me to be in SAJC, let it be..

I guess im learning how to sacrifice my desires to grow more intimately with God. Even my choices of CCAs.. wanted to join Dance or ODAC... but when i found out that they have very tight schedules, it got me thinking whether it will tire me so much that i will compromise my Quiet Time or even my weekends in church. As much as i love ODAC or Dance, i love God more..

So i guess right now it's between Student Council or Saints for Christ.. but i'm compelled to SFC..

had iconstruct meeting today with Eunice, Cheryl and WeiPing.. really refreshing.. got me thinking about relationships.. and to Pastor FuMan's preaching.. i realised then.. even relationships that we have should glorify God as well. off course that's a general statement. but what are the ways? Pastor FuMan asked us," What's the significance of the bridegroom kissing the bride on the wedding day? will it be the first kiss they share?" It shocked me a little..

“Is the relationship build to strengthen each other in their walk with God, moving on to a marriage? Or is it to just satisfy our feelings?”

Ultimately, I believe relationships should be about God as well..

In conclusion, SERVE is good!!! I learnt a lot, matured in my thinking, brought me to let go of my past.. encourage all to join!!!

The drowsiness is kicking in… want to sleep… but I know there’s something else I want to share.. but I’m getting tired…

It hurts.. from head to toe… first time i got a line bruise.. on my knee.. hai...

cool!!!! very cool!!!! haha.. but before that.. in the morning, had breakfast with Elissa, JiangYin, Rachel and SiEr at BBP cafe cartel.. woots! nice breakfast!!

next Elissa and I went to Bugis there to go to Tecman.. we had a very "weird" experience. We met a guy at the escalator who passed us his phone, asking us to help him type a message. He talked in Chinese, and well, he's actions are quite weird. heard him say about people owing him money, don't treat him as a fool.. Elissa was like trying to make out what he wants us to put in the message.. lol..

Anyway, went to Tecman, found out they do not have stock for "Habitudes by Dr Tim Elmore".. gotta wait a few months first.. lol, so both of us made our way to Eunice house.. =)

Once everyone was gathered, we starting preparing!!!

Elissa was having difficulty with the can opener.. haha.. train your muscle!!!

i learnt how to slice meat!!! and also how to cut flower carrots.. haha!

LOOK AT THE FOOD.. they bough 10 packets of balls?!?!!?

Friday...
we did a mini session of reading the whole gospel of Mark together for 1hr 30 minutes.. wow.. tiring.. almost fell asleep, but that's because i slept at 2 plus am and woke up at 5.30am... never irritate a person who has lack of sleep.. haha.. anyway.. it was refreshing though.. haha..

we had a time of reflection too, about anything that came to our minds. and i recalled how physically and mentally drained i was the night before.. at least everything had gone smoothly in the end.. R.O.P.B...

met up with Alyssa in the evening to give her her christmas present! hope she likes it.. haha..

and i want to give my best shot and following up now.. =) .. Jessica and GuoShu replies gave me encouragement! hope is not lost!!

God, glory and honor be to You.. that one day i can see them both coming to know You personally. let not studies or anything else cloud their minds of the true meaning in life.. protect them God from the evil one..

Today...
Session was really inspiring.. faith..
what's my destiny? i don't know, but i pray one day God'll tell me..

so i made goals, known as new year resolutions... based on my roles.. (Serve lessons applied!)

1) Grow in biblical knowledge by starting to read and meditate on a chapter each 1-2 days.
2) Strengthen family trust by doing my responsiblities well and control any sign of wanting to "rebel" against my parents.
3) to deepen friendships by being more observant and remembering little details, also to reply back messages within 20 minutes.

Goals cannot have the word "try to.. if can.. if possible.." if not, they wouldn't be fufilled.. i must be determined...

God, help me to grow more like Jesus, and become more selfless.. for this past week, You have shown me much areas that i have not surrendered to You. Let my life be all about You, and not of me.. Let not understanding the parables confuse my thoughts but to seek Your wisdom and peace in everything i do. God, there are so many people i want to pray for, help me to remember them. Father i come to You to seek rest and comfort, knowing You'll heal me.. You are my strength and rock. God, guide me and give me your wisdom to make the right decisions in managing the situation, so that Your glory is shown through me.

had a super weird dream last night...

I was dreaming that our class girls were on a war with our class boys.. in some jungle war field. funny thing is we were at war with catapults???? haha.. super weird.. in the end the boys overwhelmed the girls.. as they have the muscles for one-on-one combat..

GB camp!!!!!!!!!

1st day.......15th Nov

we assembled at South View Primary school, took a bus to...
St. Andrew's Cathedral home for the aged!!!

there, the girls sang songs, had lunch! and played a few games..

and Rachel got a blister!! hha!! no la, it was food stuck on her foot.. hha.. but looks like one big blister.. hha!

After that, we moved off to the campsite!!! hha.. all i know was that i was super duper tired.. =) and it rained!!! living proof with Elissa running to shelter.. hehe!

played games, introduced the groups "Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, and Gentleness" I'm in Kindness!!! Elissa's in Peace! =D

played dress up? hha.. then the "warriors" had to fight it out!!! Oh no!! lol...

hha.. after that the helpers were taken out to help in the next series of games, which is the station games.. didn't take much photos.. SORRY! hehe.. but it was fun!! i was with my group the whole time.. lol.. and especially the captain fruits (captain ball), the fruits were disgusting.. hha!

Didn't take much anymore for the rest of the day.. all i remember was that i had to go prepare the firewood, and i realised that there wasn't enough Kerosene, so Elissa and Violet started calling people.. hha.. but it was fun chopping woods and soaking.. though we missed song and praise!

At night the Lightstix helpers went to meet Gladys for a time of prayer and worship. it was great. I reflected upon the day and realised that there are many areas in which i can improve in.

2nd day...16th Nov

Woke up early again for prayer and worship. ahh!!! a great way of starting the day!! =) even made milk tea!! my favourite drink..

we went for song and worship...

and boy were the helpers tired out...

Still, we had to help out in the amazing race to VivoCity!!!!
i didn't take pictures though.. =(
but it was great fun!!! hha, i was one of the station master... so funny to see the girls run to me.. hhe... and i even used the free time i had to write cards for my Mortal and my group members.. =D

After that, went back to the campsite and started preparing for the campfire. the guys, namely LeFa, Matthew and Sean helped out.. =) and ta da!!! wood is properly placed!!!

throughout the night the campfire was ongoing, with Elissa, Celine and me being the MCs.. almost shout until no voice.. hha.. but it was definitely cool.. DEFINITELY!!! in the end Matthew, Sean, and me threw all the kerosene into the fire (needed to finish it all), and yea!! it was a big fire!!! hha.. and i managed to avoid being wet.. haha...

the helpers were definitely very tired.. and it was the prize presentation next! took the time to rest myself.. woohoo!! and bathed.. before having the meeting, my group girls started playing "eagle catch chick" (translate to chinese)... hha super funny!!! oh well, the meeting was great too!! only we were super tired..

once all the rest slept, i went back to the canteen to finish up writing the cards, and went to cool off the fire.. before going to sleep too.. =)

3rd day... 17th Nov

woke up early again to finish clearing off the fire, but to my amazement, the Uncles at the campsite had already cleared it up!! saved me the energy.. hehe..

the campers were still sound asleep...

hha.. off course we had to clear up the area and i made winged hearts for the girls in my group.. man i'll really miss them alot.. =) so sad i didn't manage to take pics with them using my phone.. only took with WeeJin's camera...

we broke camp and headed back to the school!! and guess who my mortal is.. HAHA!! IT'S ELISSA!!!!!!! she was so shocked.. hehe!!!

yep!! camp was great! but super tiring.. haha.. had lots of fun!!!!

It's always hard to take the first step.. especially in forgiving. yep yep yep... but there is still a need to take it.. Matthew 5:24 says so.. in my case, it's to seek forgiveness.. from my mother..

let's not go into detail why... but like it said.. honour your father and your mother.. seek reconciliation..

so i was about to do my QT.. but deep inside my heart something was tugging.. i thought that incident would just come to past... but obvious God didn't want it to.. =) gave straight in my face matthew 5:24.. and well.. i got rid of all the feelings of "i don't want to do it" and went to my mother... here's how it went..

(my mom in the living room with the laptop)
(i sat down behind her on the sofa)
(she looked at me)
mom: what?
(i shoke my head)
me: you still angry ah..?
mom: what? what is it? (obvious she can't hear properly)
me: you still angry ah? (louder)
mom: what....
me: just now lo....
mom: aiya... go study la..
(me not moving for a moment...)
me: you sure?
mom: ya la ya la.. go study la..
(me left her alone... but i could see a small smile on her face, before i left.. )

kinda stupid connversation... i have to agree.. haha...
but i felt so much better... =)

Alright! today, we had our full dress rehearsal during worship today.. yay yay!
the costume was a little too low cut.. good thing we had our tubes.. hha..
oh oh!! funny thing... haha..
during dance, my HIGH HEEL got loose!!! the strap came off... i was like.. oh no oh no!! but had to act as though nothing happen... haha! later half way kick, kick off the shoe.. lol!!

Tuition was fun.. though i was kinda tired... wondering why.... learnt alot too.. hha..

Muahaa, my 2nd post!!!

Well, again, it's one of those times that i actually am able to come and post!!! mostly i'll just jot down some main "highlights" of each day in my homework diary, since there's so much space.. hha.. well! i won't elaborate much on things last week, except for Friday.. because!! something funny happened.. haha..

After school, well, technically after taking the SBQ test in AVA 2, i went to look for HuiKeng and WeiYun. They wanted to play ball, but our guide's ball "had no air inside".. so we needed to pump it up. guessing by the look of their faces, we had to go and ask from the P.E. department to use the pump..

At that point, i was imagining the pump to be a mini size kind, the one where you use the hand to literally pump the air in. Imagine the shock i got when i saw the pump to be a PRESSURE PUMP!! Mr Micheal and Mr Lim were present, so they started to "teach", or rather "warn" us on the usage of the pump.. I WAS GETTING KINDA SCARED.. they were saying "If the pressure goes above 4atm, must press this!" then turn the knot to let the gas go.. if hold too long ball will burst!!"

I was like... er.. then how? then how?!?! just then Mr Shashi came and started giving adivce too.. haha.. so comical.. the teachers standing a distance away telling us wad to do, while my two friends were standing, one holding the ball, another looking at us.. -.-''' i turned the "thing" on.. and BBUURRRRMM!!!! i got a shock man! yea, everyone started laughing.... -.-'''

lol.. then the teachers started to "scream".. look at the pressure meter! pressure!! instantly i thought it went up too high, above 4atm.. so i just turned the whole stupid thing off.. then i realised.. it was only at 3atm... -.-''' guess Mr Shashi couldn't take anymore of our nonsense and took over.. hha.. yea, but it was fun... hha!

I want so much to post abt Saturday and Sunday, but i'm running out of time to stay online.. have to go back to study.. so i'll talk a little today..

During English lesson, Mr Goh, my EL teacher, was going through with us oral, since our 'O' level english oral exam is tomorrow (mine's on wednesday).. and we were going through some picture discussions and conversation topics. i'm not sure what's wrong with me, i just started getting "high".. hha..

one of the picture, think its 2006 day 3 picture, it shows some british guy leading a group of students to dunno where.. then at the background, i saw something so... out of the ordinary.. it was a face.. with a black eye.. kinda scary, but funny looking at the same time.. lol.. black eyed poster person.. lol..

Anyway, during one of the conversation topics, it was on the "tell me how you travel to school every day." my classmate answered the question by saying he takes the MRT to school. Mr Goh corrected him by saying it's the train.. i was thinking.. train.. i take the train to school.. sound weird.. haha.. then my friend and i started the.. "chu chu!!" train sound.. haha!! "i take the chu chu train to school everyday!"..

during the lesson, my friend cut out the cover for my eraser, and well, it looked like a ring.. so i started to stuff it into my finger.. seeing that it fits.. (hehe..), i sort of started proposing to the girls.. hha! obviously it was for fun.. but their reaction is superbly funny.. i even kneeled in front of Priya, and after asking, she just used a bottle and whacked my head.. oow!!! haha!

lol.. fun times are here.. hard times are to come!! must jia you for prelims!! ar ar ar!!

Hey people!! muahaha.. your long await post from the M.I.A. girl, Pearl!!!! haha..

Well, i think i've only got the time to be able to post once a week.. so be patient with me!!!

hha, anyway, this week's been fun!

On Thursday, my school had our annual Speech day!!! and i was on usher duty!! and thus, i had to wear our school blazer.. but before it all happened, i went to the computer lab to do this quiz on some game called Nation Builder, or was it National Builder? not that sure.. hha.. Its this game whereby in order to build infrastures in the land, i've got to answer some questions to get money to build. in the end my score showed that im a Senior Builder!!! so funny.. half the time i was guessing what was the answer to each question la.

Anyway, speech day was okay.. there were quite a number of speechs. lol.. and i went home with Melody! rather, i met her at the bus stop and took the same bus as her.. hha.. was talking to her about Graduation Dinner.. up till now, i'm still indecisive of whether i should go or not.. Money's not the problem in this case i guess..

Friday was National Day celebration!! school went high on this day.. hha.. wanted to show some photos i took.. guess the internet's not co-operating with me.. hha.. anyway, almost everyone in school wore red today! cool eh? lol.. had the march in of the UG groups.. hehe.. GUIDES!!! then off course some celebrations, even my class went up and cheered!! had a good time, though as much as i tried i just can't seem to get high... lol...

At night was the event "Day of his Power" at Expo! was kinda late for it because of dinner.. =) It was great experience.. though i didn't really understand some parts of it.. =)

I wasn't able to watch the NDP parade on Saturday, nor the full Olympiad opening on Friday.. yet i had so much fun on Saturday, playing ball with my church friends! so funny and fun.. haha..
